This site is a solitary outpost on Lake St.Joseph in Ontario. It sits on the extreme west end of Lake St.Joseph at the river outlet. The cabin is a 3 bedroom main cabin with a bunk house that holds an additional 4 beds holding up to 10 people. Three directions to travel are available to you here. North to the Cat River inflow, south to the Root River outlet or east towards Eagle Island [20 miles distant]. All of the travel directions give some protection from mother natures unpredictable weather.
The Fishing at Root Bay on Lake St.Joseph
The boats here are 15 foot Alumarines as this end of the lake is more protected but you still get 15 hp motors to get you around to those distant exploration places. With lots of water comes lots of fishing spots! From mid lake humps to current and great shoreline structure Root bay will satisfy any anglers needs. One of the big features here is the river outlet or the “Pin Cushion” , ½ mile distant, where the entire lake drains out through a narrows creating a 5 mph current and a Ontario walleye fishing factory, pretty much any time of the year. Over the years Root Bay on Lake St.Joseph walleye fishing has become the best for overall size.
