The Fly-In
Our Flights to the lake are probably one of our finest features.
We use Northern Edge Aviation (Rich) for the bulk of our flights. We also use Slate Falls Airways and Bamaji Air to make sure we have sufficient planes to move all of our groups. The Main planes we use are a Turbo Otter and a Twin Beech. Holding groups of 8 people on the Otter on one flight. All of your gear is weighed in and every plane leaves the dock legally loaded. Ryan is there to meet every group and make sure your trip is on time and you are as prepared as you can be! IF you have excess gear, we fly it in on a separate plane or a check flight. At SFO, we don’t charge you or limit you to a certain weight per person. We will use the right plane or planes for your group to get everything in as quickly as possible.
Pick up Times
Pick up day is not pick up day but rather, pick up hour or exact time. I will give you your scheduled time for the plane to arrive, and more often than not, we will arrive within 10 minutes of that scheduled time. IF the weather, or something else, conspires against us, then you may end up waiting a bit but that is the exception, not the rule. Now with our Satellite Internet at the outposts, we can text or call you with updates on the slight chance we have a weather delay.
Check Flights
Check Flights are very common at Slate Falls Outposts. We don’t just load you on the plane and see you next week! Ryan is out in the bush almost every two days or more. I check in with as many camps as possible. Chances are you won’t be at camp during the day. If you are, we always have time to chat and make sure everything is the way it should be. We are using the camp checks to make sure all supplies are good, dropping off overloads, bait orders, anything that needs to be done.
